LA INTRUSA DANZA (Catalonia/ES) Germany premiere„Staff Fragmento“ La Intrusa Danza is a dance group from Barcelona and was founded by Virginia Garcia and Damian Muñoz in 1996. Their choreographies take place both indoor and outdoor and include music, video and theater. Defined by the dance critic of El País as a spectacle " glorious in all its interventions", Staff, of the Spanish company La Intrusa Danza, is a montage set to celebrate 10 years of the company and shows the public the intimacy of the group, their habits and their most intimate way to understand the dance. "It's an invitation to see firsthand what we established in our lives and what we had imagined during the creative process", explains Virginia Garcia and Damian Muñoz, leading choreographers of La Intrusa Danza. A poetic play with a fluid and multifaceted gestural vocabulary, Staff permeates the sensibility of the spectator. The audience becomes witness to the acts and habits of the company, what gives meaning to their lives, by enabling the dancers to create relations with the public. "We are people to achieve something: to be with each other. It is impossible to live without the certainty that there is one person in the world for whom we are indispensable", says the creators of the show. With a radical choreographic development, Staff is a tapestry of hypnotic images, full of physicality. In 2009, the choreography won, with Muñoz, the Max Award for Best Male Performer in Dance, a stimulus to the talent of professionals of performing arts in Spain.

COMPAGNIE KUMULUS (France) Germany premiere„Silence encombrant“ Compagnie Kumulus is the socio-critical voice of the street theater scene in France since more than 25 years. The artistic director Barthélemy Bompard is inspired by the work of Pina Bausch and Jerôme Bosch as well as by the German expressionism. Since the foundation of Compagnie Kumulus in 1986, he develops with his plays political theater in a public surrounding. The new production „silence encombrant“ is following the tradition of the absurd theater and the obvious allusion to „the waiting“, which was brought on stage by nobody so meaningful like by Samuel Beckett. Bompard stages with tiny and terrific, affectionate and bizarre gestures, the variety of the life at the boarder of society. Nonverbal, reduced to gestures and facial expressions as well as costume and equipment, the absurd and poetic pictures make an unique imagination accompanied by the sound of the asphalt. Kumulus impressed the audience at the Festival in 2008 with an expressive production, ’Intinéraire sans fonds’, which imposingly broached the issue of the destiny of refugees. In the new production they also develop without any words their own language, which is so catchy that it‘s hard to escape from.

CIE. DAAD (Netherlands)„La cuisine macabre“ La Cuisine Macabre“ is taking us back to the times of the highwaymen, flying tradesmen and bizarre annual fair attractions. A mysterious black carriage is wandering about aimlessly through the streets of the city. Windows get closed and through the curtains, the strange visitors get observed with mistrust. They quickly find a rest area for the carriage, it stops, a terrace gets folded out and a kitchen arises out of the back. The chimney smokes, it smells promising and someone places an order. It‘s knocking loudly inside the kitchen and after a few seconds a ready dish gets handed through the carriage... but he who looks behind the scenes looses his appetite very quickly... Or was it the other way around? „La Cuisine Macabre“ is street theater packed with black humor, presented by the young ensemble Cie. DaaD, which was formed out of members of „The Lunatics“.
„Le Salon de La Mort“ "Le Salon de la Mort" brings us back to the Middle Age. The earth is flat - charlatans and quacksalvers and their pretended magic bullets are everywhere. The barber is the dentist, blacksmith and undertaker at the same time. An old black carriage pioneers through the streets and the undertaker fascinates the mourners with his virtuoso play on a violin. Le Salon de la Mort" is a production by the dutch theatre group Compagnie DAAD, directed by Linda Anneveld and Erik Baker and will be shown as a try-out. www.compagniedaad.nl CIE. DAAD / LINDA ANNEVELD (Netherlands) Germany premiere„La Danza, La Memoria“ As freelancing artist Linda Anneveld shows with her costumes the border between clothes and objects. She studied costume and theatre design at the art academy in Utrecht (NL). Afterwards she worked on commission for several theater ensembles and specialized herself on the theater work in public spaces. For six years she made the costumes for the group „The Lunatics“. In her installation „La Danza, La Memoria“ ten human sized string puppets with apparently fixedly faces are moving in the wind. The interaction of music and movement gives this installation an incomparable surreal atmosphere, where time doesn‘t matter.

Delrevés breaks the tradition of the „flat bottom“ and dances vertical towards the wall. Not only the audience, also the dancers develop a completely new perspective. The dance-ensemble Delrevés was founded in 2007 by Saioa Fernández and Eduardo Torres in Barcelona. Both came from different disciplines, Eduardo was a martial artist before he came to dancing, Soioa studied acting and dance in Bilbao and Leeds. The dancers carry the audience in their vertical-dance performances "Repite Conmigo" and "Guateque", by day and by night, off to a parallel world without gravity and the possibility to fly. „Repite Conmigo“ is inspired by the story „Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll and asks for the inner self, which is searching it‘s independence. The dancers lead the audience through the pictographical world of fairy tales. Delrevés interprets in their night-performance „Guateque“ what happens in a party night: Why are we going out? What affects us? What happens in a party night? Who do we meet there? „Guateque“ tells the story of two characters, a woman and a man and their meetings during the night. The choreographies are accompanied by live music by Aurelien Rotureau. The french composer is member of the ensemble. He arranged and composed the music for both of the productions.

DYNAMOGÈNE (France) World premiere„Le petit catalogue“ Since more than twenty years the artists collective DYNAMOGèNE builds music machines and mobile musical objects for the streets. On the festival in Detmold 2004 their play O.P.I was awarded for „small mobile street theatre“. In 2010 they presented the bizarre music machine ‚La Cymbamobylette’, 2012 they premiere with their monumental show ‚Le petit catalogue’. This creation is a subtle combination of human reflexes and technology on which falls the shadow of Jacques Tati - « Jour de Fête », and de Charlie Chaplin - « Modern Times ». Dynamogène stage an open day presentation in a manufactory, which is specialized in construction and development of music machines since 1859. Garage atmosphere, machines, tools, different workspaces with pre-industrial ambiance: in the manufactory there are ten workers, actors and musicians, which are engaged with their large scaled music machines, screwing and polishing. They work 360 minutes per day in a 360° area. The production is funny, anarchistic, intentional, irrational and is between romantic nostalgia and absolute nonsense. Dynamogène about „Le petit catalogue“: « Let’s not forget that tomorrow’s reality is without a doubt, nothing but an unrealistic utopia that forms in the minds of dreamers. »

KOMPLEX KAPHARNAÜM (France) World premiere„Figures Libres Creation 2012“ KompleXKapharnaüM is a collective of visual artists, cinematographers, writers and musicians and was founded in 1995 in Villeurbanne a little suburb of Lyon. Since their foundation KompleXKapharnaüm (KxKm) tries to develop the audience and the town from a multi medial perspective. Behind Figures Libres is a desire to experience the crowd, the gathering of people. Figures Libres offers a collective walk through the town enabling the audience to feel the ambivalent relationships between the individual and the group. The common denominator of this face to face is the body : the body of the crowd – captured live and retransmitted moments after – and the body of individuals met before – and pre-recorded. Figures Libres is a monumental procession traveling across the town and transforming it. Supported by an original live soundtrack eight dancer-projectionists – with three processional vehicles – take over the walls of the town with silent portraits. Through these portraits, Figures Libres offers a face to face with the other – one’s own double; with these others – whom we forget the existence of , made invisible by or indifference; with this other – this crowd that comes and goes with people’s individual trajectories. By following he thread of these lives, Figures Libres tries to bring life to the social body.

A small to medium scale acrobatic theatre production designed for audiences on the street, in parks and squares or any other public space. Falling Up explores the body as a symbol for who we are. It confronts the stereotypes we all impose on each other based on the way we look – fit or fat, man or woman – and confounds them. Using what might be assumed to be a limitation as a strength; the very thing that stops us falling down and instead propels us upwards into something beautiful.

From now on he is chasing the children until the chase ends on the steps of the town hall. The character is a middle of the road, uptight bloke who, once a week, gives rein to his flights of fantasy. A sort of « Saturday Don Quichotte ». He paces, strides and stumbles from one place to another, pushed into action by his needs and desires. Today he dares, he trembles, he lets go, then stops and takes a breath whenever he feels like it. He runs away from his organised composure, and affronts his permanent anxiety. He feels inspired.

One night, by surprise, a group of seventy people enter the restaurant. The cooks realize that they neither have enough food nor tables to satisfy the big group. The Primitives (Belgium)„Timber“ It's the Day of the Carpenter, and to celebrate the yearly occasion our two brothers polish their tools and gather their planks of wood. to appear before an assembled crowd and rejoice in the beauty of their craft. With screwdriver in one hand and nail in the other, they set to work. The sawdust flies and the sweat drips. Lyrical voices and the pounding of hammers fill the air, as our two brothers measure and mark and stumble and sing and cut and bleed with a vengeance, until finally, improbably, unbelievably, the result of their labor stands: a magnificent homage to the wonder of wood and the skill of the humble carpenter who built it.
